Seamstress - Full Time - Harrah's Gulf Coast
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists employees with uniform exchanges according to established procedures. Collects and inspects uniforms from employees who are terminating or transferring. Prepares soiled uniforms for laundry pick-up at the end of each shift. Inspects and puts away all clean uniforms. Logs, issues and collects aprons and accessories. Records all issued items on uniform issue form and places in appropriate bin for processing. Completes loan slips for borrowed uniforms or accessories. Records daily activities and work performed. Maintains stock in a neat and orderly fashion. Ensures equipment used is maintained and in good condition. Assists with counting, labeling and stocking received merchandise, helps with garment issues when needed and as time permits. Maintains a log of tools and supplies; being careful to pass information to Supervisor in a timely manner for ordering. Maintains well kept work area at all times. Completes new hire and termination paperwork and issues lockers. Acts as a role model and encourages others to do the same. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job, adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
Qualifications:
High school diploma preferred. Must be able to keep records in English and maintain mathematical records. Must be able to operate a sewing machine and have full understanding of mending and construction of sewing techniques. Previous housekeeping experience is a plus. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team. Must present a well-groomed appearance.PHYSICAL MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit at a sewing machine for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds form the ground to above head level. Must be able to lift, carry and hang uniforms constantly from one rack to another. Must be able to push and pull heavy racks of uniforms. Must be able to reach a uniform over the head to either hand or to remove one. Must be able to climb or step up and down form a ladder or step stool. Must be able to continually and quickly maneuver in a small work area. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.GAMING PERMIT:
