Summary:
Provides case management, coordination of services, and transportation for adult and child residents of emergency and transitional shelter programs.
The SOARing in MississippiDemonstration Program through The University of Southern Mississippi, School of Social Work, Center on Human Trafficking Research and Training was awarded federal funding to establish a continuum of care and implement human trafficking response protocols throughout the lower nine counties of Mississippi.
The Program is funded by the U.
S.
Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Office on Trafficking in Persons.
The timeframe for the award is 9/30/22 until 9/29/27.
The care coordinator position is supported through this award.
Continued employment throughout the award period is contingent upon meeting position and agency requirements and receiving positive employee reviews.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Essential position requirements include but are not limited to:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social work, psychology or related field.
Two (2) years of related experience preferred.
Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of clients, staff and individuals in the community.
Ability to work diplomatically in order to gain and maintain professional relationships with various community partners and contacts Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment Ability to express complex information and ideas both verbally and in writing using culturally and linguistically appropriate communication skills.
Ability to work within agency mission, philosophy and policies/procedures.
Must have a reliable vehicle and meet agency driving policy requirements, including a valid driver license and proof of required automobile insurance.
Ability to obtain Class D driver license.
Local travel required General physical requirements include but are not limited to:
bending, stooping, climbing stairs, prolonged sitting of more than 4 hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
CLINICAL Conduct initial human trafficking screening and assessments for clients to determine resource needs.
Facilitate client development of social supports, safety plans and service plans using trauma-informed, person-centered best practices Collaborate with other community partners and social service agencies to seek and obtain services for clients.
Conduct weekly life skills group Provide recommendations to clinical staff for housing programs Provide client transportation as needed to community locations Attend and participate in weekly clinical staffing meetings Conduct morning meetings (Monday-Friday) with all shelter residents to assess needs and progress Aid shelter residents in need of relocation outside of service area Collaborate with Crisis Counselor to carry out effective services to clients Make appropriate client referrals for continued services upon discharge.
Attend bi-weekly meetings with the GCCFN Human Trafficking Response Team (i.
e.
, human trafficking-specific therapist and housing coordinator, and a member of the SOARing grant team) Collect and submit de-identified client demographics as required by the SOARing in Mississippi Demonstration Program Collaborate with the SOARing grant team on tasks related to grant deliverables and attend trainings as necessary.
Equity training annually (5 hrs) and completion of SOAR online modules is required.
AGENCY COMPLIANCE Maintain comprehensive and organized files utilizing the automated data and case management system Adhere to the agency's confidentiality policies, maintaining a high-level standard of confidentiality.
Compile and accurately report all applicable program statistics and educational activities on time and as directed.
Report any known or suspected child abuse to the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services Centralized Intake.
Report any suspicious activity or persons to the immediate supervisor or 911.
Attend and participate in agency staff meetings and trainings.
Report to work on time as scheduled Maintain a valid driver's license and proof of required automobile insurance.
Perform all other duties and/or participate in special projects as assigned by the direct supervisor or Chief Executive Officer.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
