Principal Duties &
Responsibilities:
Ensures fair treatment and a satisfactory employment experience by providing advisory services to management on interpretation and consistent application of collective bargaining agreements and of company policies, procedures, and practices.
Provides answers/recommendations to Department Supervisors/Managers regarding policies, procedures, handbook interpretations and disciplines.
Processes written complaints by acknowledgment, verification, investigation and complaint resolution.
Responds to EEOC on all allegations of discrimination.
Inputs all counseling notices paperwork into database and files in personnel file.
Creates discipline reports as requested.
Conducts investigations and provides recommendations to managers, directors or VPs as requested or needed.
Responds to unemployment claims and represents Company at unemployment hearings.
Reviews Exit Interviews, compiles data, and gives recommendations for improvement to executive members of management.
Assists with training of harassment & discrimination and coaching & counseling.
Revises, distributes, and communicates policies and procedures as needed.
Walks the property to build rapport, assess employee satisfaction, and develop relationships.
Creates a positive environment in which all employees feel comfortable to meet with the Labor & Employee Relations Manager regarding their concerns.
Manages the collective bargaining pre-negotiation and negotiation process for all company labor agreements.
Keeps abreast of developments in Labor and Employment Law and conducts research on topics of interest in meeting company objectives.
Ensures that all policies and procedures (Federal, State, Labor Laws, and Company Regulations) are met with contract compliance.

Responsibilities:

Represents Hard Rock Biloxi in the most positive manner with guests, co-workers, managers, and vendors.
Participates in Manager on Duty program.
Gathers records and information for outside attorneys on civil lawsuits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
A.
Knowledge:
The level of education, experience, and training an individual must have at minimum to be considered qualified for the position.
B.
Skills:
Specific skills such as computer usage, communication, 10-key touch, etc.
C.
Abilities:
The physical components of the job and how the physical aspect is accomplished.
Does the position require LIFTING 50 pounds, or does it require one to MOVE 50 pounds.
Can the 50 pounds be moved using a dolly or cart? (Examples:
climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, tasting, smelling, color vision, etc.
) High School diploma general education (GED) University degree in the field of Human Resources, business administration, or 2-4 years experience in field preferably with labor unions.
Knowledge of employment laws unemployment, collective bargaining agreement skills and labor relations.
Must have basic computer skills.
May need to work outside typical HR hours of Monday thru Friday, 9AM to 5PM.
Exceptional guest service.
Must have great oral and written communication skills.
Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
Highly self-motivated and directed.
Keen attention to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
