Summary:
Assures highest possible level of guest satisfaction by regularly performing duties that support the efficient operation of the Maintenance Department, ensuring maximum profitability, quality standards, and exceptional guest service.
Includes rooms, laundry, public areas, department, storage areas and work areas.

Responsibilities:
Report to work on time, in uniform, with name badge.
Uniform and personal appearance is kept clean and professional.
Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Demonstrates and promotes a strong commitment to providing the best possible experience for our guests and fellow associates.
Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules and standards.
Get daily briefing about extraordinary events to effectively handle all foreseen situations on a daily basis.
Performs proactive preventative maintenance scheduling, follow-through and record keeping.
Performs security, loss prevention and all life safety responsibilities.
Inspect premises, guest rooms, linen rooms, laundry rooms, storage, breakfast areas, and public areas to ensure that employees maintain the property's standards of maintenance and SWHM's standards.
Ensures quality of rooms and services are rendered in meeting guest needs and hotel objectives so that guest relations are enhanced.
Enforces and controls standard procedures for the acceptance, security and return of guest lost and found items, reviews with General Manager.
Greets all guests in a friendly manner, and offers guest assistance when needed and whenever possible.
Report accidents, pertaining to guests or personal injury, immediately.
Attends scheduled meetings and necessary training sessions as required.
Understands the emergency procedures for the entire hotel.
Maintains confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
Provides assistance to other employees in a team spirit to contribute to the smooth operation of the department and the hotel.
Complies with all safety and security policies in accordance with SWHM standard.
Performs additional duties as directed by management, SWHM or that required by the hotel.
Guest Rooms Plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners, cosmetic items, replacing electrical switches and outlets, along with programming TV's.
Assists with mattress turning.
Public Areas o Plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing and/or adjusting all types of hardware, plumbing, electrical, HVAC equipment and cosmetic items.
Fire Alarm/Life Safety Systems o To monitor systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
To have working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems.
Energy Conservation o To observe energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds.
To look for ways to conserve energy and report any ideas to the management.
Tools o To clean, lubricate, protect and inventory all equipment in the hotel.
To see that all tools used are returned to the shop and secured in proper storage areas.
Emergencies o To be available for any emergencies (including after hours) and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
To act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.
Accident Prevention and Safety o work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others.
To continuously look for conditions which may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found.
Records o To read, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units.
To maintain a thorough log of each day's activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on.
To strictly adhere to the engineering duty schedule.
Departmental Duties o To clean all engineering areas as directed by management/Maintenance Supervisor.
To work in a neat and efficient manner, keeping work areas clean and well organized.
General o Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner.
Maintain communications with manager to ensure that all needed materials, tools and supplies are available or on order.
Follow up on any item that may be on back order.
Keep manager updated on assignments.
Provide training and technical advice to other engineers as needed or requested.
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk, walk up and down stairs while carrying objects.
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs.

Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned tasks.
Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate all necessary equipment.
Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and simultaneously complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
Skills, Educational Background, Experience and Basic Expectations:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Previous maintenance experience required.
A team player, yet able to work independently.
Customer Service Skills and communication.
Able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload.
Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
