Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical dataSchedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logsCalibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when neededFamiliar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular fieldRelies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsPerforms a variety of tasksWorks under general supervisionA certain degree of creativity and latitude is requiredTypically reports to a chief technologist or manager.
Requirements:
Requires a two year allied health degree, successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology, and at least 2 years of experience in the fieldRequires registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
