US Army Veterinary Services operates as a subsidiary of Public Health Command. Their mission is to provide military veterinary services in support of United States Army Medical Command and Department of Defense missions. The civilian function of the Veterinary Services is a supplemental mission which exists to assist soldiers and their families in the field of animal health and care.
This is a FLEX/Intermittent position with the Keesler AFB Veterinary Treatment Facility. Flexible employees serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as-needed basis.
Salary is pro-rated based on a 40 hour work week. Hourly pay is $13.41.
Work schedule to be determined after hire. No TDY, shift work, or holidays.

As an Operations Assistant, serve as the lead point of contact for the day-to-day front office operations of a veterinary clinic. Performs a variety of administrative and clerical functions including, but not limited to, typing and office automation. Coordinates with clinic management to establish clinic schedule and appointment availability. Serves as clinic ordering official and Government Purchase Cardholder. Processes purchasing documents. Orders, receives, and inventories veterinary supplies and pharmaceuticals. Opens and secures the clinic and pharmaceuticals daily. Processes and verifies cash flow transactions and deposits and balances daily/weekly/monthly reports. Conduct on the job training to lower level clerks and new employees. Includes other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Possess progressive work experience which demonstrates the knowledge and skills required to perform the duties of the position (to include purchasing/monitoring supplies, preparing/submitting payroll, maintaining clinic files, and use of office automation).

4. Saturday shifts may be required.
