Staff Chaplain

The Chaplain's duties include but are not limited to:
Providing extensive and intensive spiritual and pastoral counseling of inpatient care units comprising newly admitted, pre- and post operative, the critically ill, the terminally ill, acute care, community living center,, inpatient and outpatient mental health, injured, ambulatory care, Alzheimer, dementia, and Intensive Care Unit patients.
Providing counsel and pastoral support to relatives of patients in difficult and trying situations to alleviate their anxieties, to win effective cooperation of these relatives with the treatment regimen of the medical center, and to help them deal with grief.
Responding to emergencies or crises when spiritual and pastoral care is appropriate.
Providing counsel, if required, on medical ethical issues, such as advance directives; in the context of the patient's particular faith backgroundAssuring that the right of each and every patient to free exercise of religion is upheld; and that patients are protected from proselytizing by staff, other patients, or visitors, regardless of faith group.
Contributing to the formulation and accomplishment of objectives and activities by cooperating closely with colleagues and the supervisory chaplain in an ecumenical/interfaith, team approach to assignmentDemonstrating sensitivity to the religious needs and requirements of each other and each individual patient, family member, and staff.
Participating actively on interdisciplinary teams/groups, and committees to assure that the religious and spiritual dimensions or health and wellness are addressed in all aspects of the medical center's holistic patient care.
Assisting health care providers and treatment teams in recognizing and addressing the emotional and spiritual needs of veteran patients, using specialized knowledge and abilities in pastoral care of the sick.
Assisting patients, providers and teams in translating religious and spiritual values into effective living.
Leading worship service and provides sacraments/ordinances as appropriate.
Facilitating for the needs of patients of all faith groups and will locate other staff chaplains or clergy persons from the community to meet specific religious needs that he/she cannot meet.
Documenting accurately in electronic records all contacts with patient's assessment, treatment and ministry per VA policies.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
