MEDICAL TECHNICIAN

In order to qualify, you must meet the basic requirements and specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Technical and Medical Support Positions +IOR for the GS-0645 Series. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military or public service), which includes (a) Technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings or (b) technical support work in a closely related field, e.g., biological laboratory technician work, that required application of the methods and techniques for the position to be filled. OR EDUCATION:
4 years course of study above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects appropriate to the position to be filled. NOTE:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE:

Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of techniques of medical laboratory practice in the areas of microbiology, chemistry, serology, hematology, urinalysis, and immunohematology, and of recognized laboratory reference standards in performing laboratory tests. 2. Knowledge of medical laboratory quality control procedures, implications, documentation, and required corrective action, and of medico-legal requirements, regulatory, and accrediting agency requirements and pertinent statutes. 3. Knowledge of phlebotomy procedures for collecting blood samples by venipuncture or by capillary method, and for collecting body fluids, skin scrapings, throat or wound swabs, and specimens from patients of all ages including those with collapsed or small veins. 4. Skill in using complex analyzers and microscopes, centrifuges, incubators, balances, analytical scales, spectrophotometers, and similar laboratory equipment, and in adjusting and calibrating laboratory equipment against standards. 5. Ability to isolate and identify all fungi, mycobacterium, or related microorganisms from patient specimens, environmental sources, and proficiency surveys. 6. Ability to train laboratory personnel regarding practical application of laboratory procedures and methodologies, and provide them with quality control guidance. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
