Manages multiple priorities and demands from several competing sources, organize and plan work of an office using adequate control procedures, while meeting deadlines and working under pressure. Performs office automation duties using software applications as electronic mail, desktop publishing, calendar, work-processing, spreadsheet, database, purchasing/reconciliation and/or graphics. Provides office automation clerical services such as maintain electronic files, solving operating or user problems, or utilizing advanced functions. Uses word processing software and printing equipment to create, copy, edit, make insertions, retrieve and print a variety of textual documents. Performs work involving the collecting compilation and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of resource management requests. Performs a variety of receptionist and other clerical and administration functions, using judgement to answer recurring questions and resolve problems. Receives calls and visitors, based on knowledge of programs and operations, personally handles calls of routine nature, an refers others to appropriate personnel. Creates and distributes agendas, handouts and presentations to participants in advance of meetings either by hand copies or via electronically. Makes arrangement for meetings and conferences by reserving space, contacting personnel expected to attend and transmitting agenda. Edits letters, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence, prepares public presentation outlines, and develops standard or form letters and replies to inquires at the executive level. Provides general clerical mail correspondence services such as preparing a variety of recurring reports, reviewing outgoing correspondence for proper attachments, or consolidation/coordinating submittals of information. Takes and transcribes clinical and administrative material/minutes. Makes travel arrangements, arranges schedule of visits, makes transportation and hotel reservations, notifies organizations and officials to be visited and assists in the submission of travel reports and vouchers utilizing automated systems. Maintains the daily calendar of a service; making appointments and arranging conferences and meetings. Processes incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication. Provides staff and managers advice on procedures, reports, requirements, and other matters to implement the supervisor's policies, directives, and instructions. Promotion Potential:
The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. For a GS-08 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-07. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Specialized Experience GS-7:
This position serves in a developmental capacity. You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Manages the AMCD calendar, reminds AMCD of pending appointments, meetings and other commitments; Gathers and prepares information needed; Reschedules appointments as required; Recognizes overlap and/or conflict involving office tasks and assignments and makes recommendations to improve coordination and flow process for the Executive Office; Utilizes software packages 100% of the time to create reports, presentations, and health care system publications; Provides assistance of external review teams and management in support of health care system performance measures; Monitors and tracks action items relevant to performance measures and assisting data for the health care system quarterly performance measures report; Assists and supports in performing analyses and/or evaluation of operating programs by retrieving reports, correspondence, and numerical data for use in preparing status reports, briefings, and presentations; Follows prescribed safety procedures and reports observed potential safety hazards; Identifies customers/patient situation properly and responds appropriately to resolve problem; Responds to patients/families/visitors request promptly in a friendly, courteous manner; Listens to all customer/patient feedback, positive and negative; acts to resolve complaints; Safeguards sensitive records to ensure full compliance of information security and privacy; Reports any breach of security; and Complete annual information security/privacy training timely. Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have graduate education where it is directly related to the work of the position. Specialized Experience GS-8:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
